Celesta Ann Simas loved animals. She and her husband moved to a small ranch in Elk Grove where they raised their family. Celesta raised many animals: horses, cows, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats. Her love for animals and caring for them was her favorite pastime and she taught her four children to care for them as well. She was also involved with the PAWS organization.
