Additional Qualifications: Write a paragraph on career goals related to agriculture, animal husbandry, veterinary science, and current high school course work related to agricultural field.
Required Letters of Recommendation: 2 letters – one from FFA or 4-H advisor; 1 from Community Service Involvement/Community Service leader
Scholarship owner: Mary Cathryn Houston
Jimmie Warren Houston was born in 1940 in Texas where he was raised until family relocated to central California where family and extended family were involved in agriculture and related fields. He attended high school and community college in California. Jimmie worked in a variety of businesses through his younger years and for twenty plus years of his life he and his wife grew pears on their Delta orchard which went to fresh pack and DelMonte. This work was the love of his life. He left this earth and his orchard at 68 years of age.
