Additional Qualifications: The ideal candidates are high school seniors who have faced the socio-economic challenges and/or have a learning disability; are committed to completing a college degree and setting career goals; have demonstrated perseverance; embrace new opportunities; have a well-rounded perspective shaped by experiences in school, in the community (i.e. church), and with family and friends. The candidates understand how the aforementioned experiences have shaped and influenced their lives. The candidates recognize the importance of self-advocacy; believe in contributing to society in ways that increases opportunities for fellow citizens and will feel comfortable serving as role models.
